Security operatives arrest suspected: Kogi State security operatives have arrested a gang of suspected criminals who specialized in kidnapping and armed robbery in Dekina Local Government Area of the State.
On Wednesday, July 14, the Chairman of the Council, Prince Ishaq Shaibu Okolo, confirmed the operation by security operatives On Wednesday, July 14, noting that weapons, ammunition, and charms were recovered from the six suspects.
He further revealed that the suspects had been turned over to the police for further questioning, which was expected to produce more positive results.
While speaking with Newsmen Muhammed Onogwu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kogi State, stated that the state’s security architecture has stood the test of time and has recorded successes against several intricacies by criminal elements.
He believed that the results they were seeing were largely due to the Governor’s continued morale boost and support, as well as citizen cooperation and synergy among security operatives.

Onogwu, also stated that the Kogi State Government’s ongoing efforts to maintain the state’s status as the safest in the country have so far yielded positive results, adding that the Governor has made several commitments to securing citizens’ lives and property and making the state a no-go zone for criminal elements.
According to the Governor’s CPS, Kogi State, under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, has ensured the autonomy of the Local Government System, which means that each Local Area is in control and is responsible for the security and safety of their region.
He reiterated that the government at all levels would continue to make efforts to sustain the drive for a peaceful Kogi state by making the state’s nooks and crannies unsafe for criminal elements and their sponsors.
