Senator Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central, has urged the federal government to after bandits the way they are after Nnamdi Kalu and Sunday Igboho.
He stated this in an interview with Arise TV on Monday morning.
According to him, the Federal Government is more interested in apprehending secessionists than in pursuing bandits and kidnappers terrorizing Nigeria.
“if the way are treating Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho was applied to bandits, things would have been better for Kaduna and the North.
“In comparison, I can say that the government is more interested in going after secessionists than bandits. I am not a supporter of secessionists, and I believe that secessionist agitation is almost always wrong and that we should work toward a united Nigeria.
“But I believe that if the same effort was applied to these bandits as they are to Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho, things would have been better for us in Kaduna and the north-western part of the country. Arresting bandits is more important to us than Igboho and Kanu issues, in my opinion”, Senator Shehu Sani
On the state of security in Kaduna state, the former Senator stated that only two of the state’s 23 LGAs are secure.

“Abduction has become a daily tragedy in Kaduna state, with many incidents going unreported. Those that have been reported are either mass abductions or abductions of prominent individuals. We have reached a point in this state where the only safe local governments are Kaduna North and Kaduna South,” he said.
“Bandits have taken over all of the state’s local governments. We’ve never seen anything like this before, and it appears that the abductions are getting worse by the day. Bandits have attacked all four entrances to Kaduna state.
People on the outskirts virtually migrate to the city centre after 7 p.m. to return in the morning,” he explained.
