Prof. Osadolor Odia of Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma has allegedly been kidnapped by unknown gunmen at his farm in Egoro, Ekpoma, in the Esan West Local Government Area of Edo.
Odia, an engineering professor and former head of the AAU’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, was said to be on his way to the farm when the incident occurred.
According to a family source who requested anonymity, the professor’s kidnappers have already contacted the family and demanded a ransom of N18 million.
“I can confirm that Odia was kidnapped today on his way to the farm, and the kidnappers requested a ransom of N18 million.”

When approached, the university’s Public Relations Officer, Edward Aihevba, said that he obtained the news of the abduction as general information.
Aihevba claimed that he did not know how the incident occurred.
Similarly, Kontongs Bello, spokesman for the Police Command in Edo, said that he was unaware of the incident and vowed to contact the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ekpoma.
