Today I will be showing you how to make tomatoes paste from fresh tomatoes. Making your tomatoes paste at home is better and safe because you are sure of the content and no preservatives or colour is added and it also makes your food tastier.
Seasonal foods and fruits are cheaper during their season, so I recommend you make your paste during tomatoes season, so when it’s not in season you just consume the one you store.
The process;
Buy good red looking tomatoes
Wash the tomatoes careful, and make sure its sand-free
Wash out the seed carefully so your tomatoes won’t fall off
Put your tomatoes on fire
Do not add water
Add a very little salt (optional)
Once you notice that your tomatoes have brought out enough water and the water is about to dry, bring down your pot
We going to be peeling off its skin
Do that carefully
You can decide to wait for the tomatoes to cool off before you peel off the skin(I do mine when it’s hot because I just have these believe that it makes the skin comes out faster)
Once you are done
You blend your tomatoes (blend until it’s very smooth)
Now the last process
Get a see-through material that water can easily pass through
Pour in your blended tomatoes
Look for a comfortable place to tie it
Leave it until the water dries off
Then you can store it in an airtight container
You can either store it in the refrigerator or just leave it in a comfortable place
It won’t get spoilt
A lot of people add vegetable oil to theirs but I don’t
The tomatoes paste can last for 6months or more
