President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Kwapre community in the Hong Local Government Area (LGA) of Adamawa State following the latest Boko Haram insurgent attack.
The president who paid a courtesy visit to the affected community was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustafa.
” I am in Kwapre see things under the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari and to sympathize and condole with the community.
“I’ve seen the magnitude of the destructions, which is horrific and of colossal proportions.
“I am profoundly saddened by what I witnessed and assure the community that the government will do everything possible to protect citizens’ lives and property,” he said.
According to him, over 78 homes, 12 stores, four schools, and four worship centres were destroyed.
He stated that protecting neighbourhoods was a joint duty, and that community members had a significant role to play.
” The government will take appropriate measures to reduce the threat as fast as possible.

“The government will assist the people in rebuilding areas that have been destroyed,” he added.
Musa Zarami, Manager, Humanitarian Affairs, North East Development Commission ( NEDC ), stated that the commission had provided victims with relief materials.
“Among the materials donated are bags of rice, corn, blankets, pads, detergents, cooking oil, and so on,” Zarami said.
Also, Simon Yakubu, District Head of Dugwaba, expressed gratitude to Buhari for the gesture.
” The devastation was catastrophic, so Kwapre has now become a ghost town due to the displacement of the local population.
“The Secretary to the Government of the Federation’s visit has given us hope and inspired us to return to our respective homes,” Yakubu said.
Recall that Boko Haram insurgents attacked Kwapre community on Friday, April 9, 2021, destroying lives and properties.
