In the spirit of Ramadan, a charity organisation “With Good Intentions” has donated food items to 64 households in Kaduna State’s Rigasa, Badiko, and Abakwa villages.
According to the Foundation, the gesture would help to alleviate the hardships that the less fortunate will face during the Ramadan fast.
Mrs Sadiya Abba-Ali, the initiative’s founder, told newsmen shortly after the donation that the initiative aimed to help the poor and underprivileged during Ramadan.
“We have a WhatsApp community where each participant donates N500 or more monthly; the funds were used to purchase food products to feed the hungry during Ramadan.
“64 households benefited this year from the Ramadan kit of foodstuffs distributed to each home, which included rice, millet, vegetable oil, sugar, seasonings, and salt, among other items,” she added.

Abba-Ali clarified that the foundation began in April 2020, after the COVID-19 lockout, and was able to feed a few people in desperate need.
She mentioned that the foundation has so far financed the basic education of 194 children, mainly orphans, in the communities of Hayin Rigasa, Badiko, and Abakpa, as well as feeding them.
Abba-Ali stated that the foundation would soon create an orphanage to assist children in obtaining an education and to offer ability training to widows for them to become self-sufficient.
She urged the government to help organizations with such programs for them to provide further aid to orphans, widows, and other vulnerable members of society.
“We aim to help thousands of less fortunate households and orphans in Kaduna State and beyond in the near future,” she added.
