Easter messages: Bishop John Ibenu, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) chairman in Kogi State, has urged its citizens to embrace and take the COVID-19 vaccine, noting that it is healthy and safe.
Ibenu said this in Lokoja on Friday, April 2, 2021, where he was paid an advocacy visit by officials from the State Ministry of Health and the Kogi Primary Health Care Development Agency ahead of the state’s receipt of COVID-19 vaccines.
“We listened to a number of expert lectures and performed our own study before deciding that the vaccine is beneficial to society and that everybody should embrace it.
He reassured Nigerians that CAN would be the first to stand up to anything that could harm them.
He emphasized that introducing something that would be detrimental to humanity was against international norms and health practice, adding, that CAN would never be part of anything that would be harmful to humanity.
“Please don’t let us be left behind; the COVID-19 vaccine is safe; there is no trick in it.”
“It is for the good of humanity, and we certify that it is safe for everyone,” he noted.
