Afrobeat singer, Rema reaches a milestone as he becomes the singer with the highest views on his music video on YouTube in 2022.
The 22-years-old singer surpassed his senior colleagues like Burna Boy, wizkid, Davido and others to emerge the winner of the title.
The 22 years old ‘Dumebi’ crooner and Mavins singer, who previously had a fantastic year in 2022, had reached a billion listens across lead credit on Spotify.
Afrobeats song “Calm Down,” remix, which he featured Selena Gomez, is one of the biggest songs of 2022.
This song became the quickest to reach this height, getting over 300 million views on YouTube in just 10 months with the single.
Recalls that Rema reacted after ex-President of America, Barack Obama, released his 2022 songs playlist, which included Rema’s hit track, Calm Down.
Reacting to this news, Rema tweeted, “I feel the same way I did in 2019 when I saw my Name on this list, I’m very grateful”.
Every year, the former president of America, Barack Obama, shares his music playlist for the year. While American artists always top his music playlist, the former president still includes African songs, especially those by Nigerian singers.
Barack Obama mentioned his favourite list via his official Twitter page saying he loves sharing the list.
