- Portable:
Because of his many controversial activities in 2022, ‘Zazu crooner’ artist left people entertained, angry, and wondering where he came from.
In 2022, the Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable was nominated for two Headies Awards: ‘Rookie of the and ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste’. His controversy began when he send threats to other artists nominated in the same categories as him, saying he will kill them. But he later apologized after the Headies organizers warned him.
- Wizkid:
Afrobeat star, Wizkid, both before and after the release of his “More Love, Less Ego” album, the Nigerian singer launched a new version of himself. Wizkid, in October, noted that his colleague should address him as Sir or Daddy, he also unfollowed Davido and other celebrities on Instagram.
Amid an interview sometime in December, Big Wiz said, “Rap is dead.” This created yet another controversy, as his remarks stirred up outrage in the industry, particularly among Nigeria’s top rappers like MI and Ycee, who reacted.
- Yul Edochie:
The Nollywood actor received harsh criticism in April 2022 following the announcement of his second marriage to actress Judy Austin and noted that they both had a son.
After the actor, Yul Edochie announced it, his first wife May, unfollowed him on Instagram.
Yul’s family members, including his dad, Peter Edochie publicly frowned at his decision.
Yul’s first wife, the mother of his four children, publicly announced that she and her family don’t support polygamous families even if it works for others.
- Nkechi Blessing:
After breaking up with Opeyemi Falegan, Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing stirred up reactions. Briefly, after Falegan praised her with lovely compliments on her birthday, the couple started a social media war as they broke up publicly.
Many scolded the actress for the childish social media drama. However, just weeks before the drama, she had promised that she would not insult her partner on social media even if the relationship ended.
Amid the social media battle, Nkechi exposed she fed her lover who was a UK military man while she denied getting married to him.
