The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security Samuel Aruwan has confirmed the kidnapping of school students and teachers within the Birnin Gwari area of the State.
Aruwan confirmed this during a statement on Monday, March 15, 2021.
According to the Commissioner, the precise number of those kidnapped is unknown.
The statement reads:
“The State Govt has received security reports that some students and teachers from a school in Rema, Birnin Gwari government district, are kidnapped.
“ Reports indicate that the incident occurred at LEA school within the LGA.
“The State government is currently gathering information on the precise number of kids and teachers confirmed kidnapped and can release an in-depth statement as soon as possible,” he said.
Gunmen abducted 30 students from Kaduna State’s Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation just days before the kidnapping.
