The Governorship candidate of the people’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Nasarawa State, David Ombugadu has pledged to run with the United Nations 17 sustainable development goals towards making the State a better place for the residents if elected in the upcoming governorship election.
Ombugadu stated this yesterday while addressing his supporters at the Party’s campaign rally in Nasarawa Local Government area of the State.
According to him, he will follow religiously the goals of the SDGs, and will prioritize provision of free medical services to all residents of the State, who will access any of the health facilities across the State at no cost while he will ease their suffering by initaiting skilful poverty alleviation programme
He noted that the above promise to the people of Nasarawa State is not a political statement but a continuation of the free medical services and empowerment programs he began since he was a member of the House of Representatives.
Ombugadu further said poverty eradication which is the first goal of the SDGs, will be takled by his administration through the empowerment of women and youths, through the creation of jobs, conducive business environment.
He thanked the people of Nasarawa local government for supporting him in his last outing in 2019 while he stated that the vote given to APGA where the former minister of Information and Culture, Labaran Maku, should be given to the PDP hence Maku is now in PDP and the State Campaign Director General.
In his remarks, the Director General of the PDP campaign committee Nasarawa State, Labaran Maku, said the hardship faced by Nigerians under the rulling All Progressive Congress, APC, and the rising security challenges in the country is enough reasons for Nigerians to vote out the party in 2023 general elections.
Speaking earlier at the rally, the State Party chairman, Francis Orogu, while receiving decampees from other Political parties, which according to him, are over one thousand, said PDP, is ready to take over power from the ruling party while he thanked the people of Nasarawa Local government for the large turn out at the rally.
