Alex Iwobi, a midfielder for the Super Eagles, is expected to get a new deal as compensation for his strong start to the season at Everton.
According to rumors, Iwobi new contract will increase his weekly pay from £70,000 to $100,000.
When current Everton head coach Frank Lampard hired the 26-year-old Nigerian and turned him to a center-midfielder, the player’s performance improved after he arrived.
The former Arsenal player’s current contract expires in just 18 months, so Everton supporters will be happy to see him sign a new one.
Iwobi’s new contract is a “three-and-a-half-year pact,” which will keep him in Merseyside through 2026.
The 17th-placed Everton will be looking to avoid a repeat of last season’s scare as they are now just one point above the relegation zone.
The midfielder is very significant in Nigeria’s super Eagles squad, being one of the best players in the national team.
