Former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, whose 65th birthday was today, received a congratulatory message from President Muhammadu Buhari who praised him for putting the benefit of the nation over his personal ambition.
The President acknowledged the previous president’s special role in the expansion and development of the country in a message delivered on Saturday in Abuja by his spokesperson, Mr. Femi Adesina.
He praised Jonathan for forgoing personal ambition for the benefit of the nation and for succeeding in establishing himself as a man of peace by spreading his legacy of amity and truce over many different nations.
As the former president celebrated another life achievement, Buhari joined the family, especially his wife Patience and mother Eunice.
The President recalled Jonathan’s political career, starting as deputy governor from 1999 to 2005, governor from 2005 to 2007, vice president from 2007 to 2010, and president from 2010 to 2015. He claimed that this career had been clearly shaped by the mercies and grace of the Almighty God.
He claims that Jonathan’s kindness, loyalty, and humility have opened up new chances for him to serve humanity and have paved the way for him to make investments in people, organizations, and countries.
