A source close to singer Davido has disclosed how he reacted on hearing the news of his son Ifeanyi Adeleke’s death stating that he literally removed his clothes and wanted to run into the streets as the both parents are inconsolable.
The horrible incident occurred on Monday, October 31, 2022, after Ifeanyi drowned in his father’s Banana Island Mansion.
He was rushed to Evercare Hospital in the Lekki area of Lagos State, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
“Davido ran mad. He literally removed his clothes and wanted to run into the streets. He was held back. He and Chioma are inconsolable.” The family source said.
Davido and Chioma went for a family gathering in Ibadan yesterday, leaving Ifeanyi with his minders, who have no idea how he entered the pool without being observed and drowned.
The boy’s body has been taken to the mortuary, and it appears that an autopsy will be performed to identify the cause of death.
All friends, staff, and colleagues have been barred from seeing Davido and Chioma at their father’s house.
According to a source, the Nanny was with Ifeanyi when the Chef arrived. The Nanny was claimed to have stepped slightly away to take a call. She couldn’t find Ifeanyi when she returned and assumed he was with the Chef, but the Chef said he had left Ifeanyi with her. They began frantically searching for Ifeanyi throughout the mansion for over 20 minutes until a security guard saw him in the pool.
Nobody knew how the youngster got into the pool.
Davido was taken from Evercare Hospital, upset and inconsolable to his father’s residence, where he remains as of press time.
Meanwhile, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, stated that eight of the musician’s domestic staff had been taken in for questioning following the drowning of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
