The Lagos State Government has encouraged young people in the state to participate in initiatives that will alter the trajectory of their generation and advance wholesome values and behaviors.
This counsel was given, according to a statement released on Sunday, through the Lagos State Government by the state’s commissioner for youth and social development, Mr. Olusegun Dawodu, at the Ikeja presentation of the 2022 Youth Ambassadors.
Dawodu said, “The vision of Ibile Youth Academy is to provide a safe place for the youth of Lagos State to learn and go through educational, recreational and leadership activities in engaging programmes of generation-changing dimension that promote and foster a commitment to learning positive values and healthy habits.
“The 2022 ambassadors are Zainab Aderounmu (state ambassador); Anisere Olufemi (Ikeja divisional ambassador); Victory Ashaka (Badagry divisional ambassador); Samiat Ishola (Ikorodu divisional ambassador) and Giwa Omotomiwa (Epe divisional ambassador).
They underwent rigorous screening procedures by experienced assessors and underwent two phases of an intensive leadership development program before emerging, according to the statement.
Moshood Oshun, the chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly’s House Committee on Youths, Sports, and Social Development, advised the ambassadors to put their newfound knowledge and abilities to use.
The Ibile Youth Academy is an annual leadership training program with the goal of enabling teenagers to realize their full potential as productive and responsible citizens, according to the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu.
