Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known by his stage as singer Mohbad, has formally ended his contract with Naira Marley’s Marlian Music.
His management made this announcement on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 weeks after he had criticised his employer for an alleged assault.
According to a document made public by Mohbad’s legal team, he left because of frequent attacks carried out by Naira Marley.
Additionally, they claimed that the music executive owes Mohbad advances that had been overdue since 2019.
Recall that Mohbad an ex-signee of Marlian Music was reportedly hospitalised a few weeks ago after being allegedly attacked by a bunch of young guys who supported his boss, Naira Marley.
He said that Naira Marley sent his thugs after him just to fight him after he asked for a manager change.
Mohbad claims that his boss rejected his request because his manager is the brother of Marlian Music founder.
The performer posted some videos of the wounds he received as a result of the attack on various body areas.
The singer of the hit song “Ko Por Ke” alleged that Naira watched them beat him without intervening.
He claimed that due to internal damage, a CT scan had to be performed on him at the hospital.
The musician pleaded for assistance on his Twitter page, claiming that he is sober and not drunk and that no one should accept any statement made by the label that he was high when making the accusation.
“Just because I want to change my manager which is their brother, see what they did to me at Marlian House I’m at the hospital for a CT Scan for head impact and chest X-ray as a result of the assault”.
“I had the meeting clearheaded and without any drug influence too. Everything he said on the live video is a blatant lie. This isn’t the first time. The last video was made out to look like I was high or overreacting”.
“My life is being severely threatened. I’m not intoxicated but I’ve just been diagnosed as an emergency hypertensive patient”.
“I’m not on drugs or drinks and my life is at stake. I’m still getting threats”.
“Naira Marley was fully present throughout this event, and in fact, coordinated some of the attack as he instructed the boys to beat us up. Some of this was captured on video”.
“It is therefore disrespectful for Naira Marley to insinuate that I started the attack because I was intoxicated as he is fully aware of the facts and circumstances surrounding this violent attack”.
“It is not the first time Naira has lied to push his own narrative, but it will hopefully be the last”, he wrote.
