Two men, Abdullahi Umoru and Abdullahi Abdulmumini, who allegedly stole a Techno phone and N2,000, appeared before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, on Wednesday.
The defendants are standing trial before Magistrate L. J. K Layeni, on a three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and stealing.
They each, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them
The prosecutor, Dr. Simon Uche told the court that the defendants committed the offences on March 21, at 9. 00p.m., at the Agric area of Ojo Lagos
He said that the defendants attacked the complainant, one Salisu Musa, and stole his Techno phone valued N15,000 as well as cash sum of N2,000 in his possession.
According to the prosecution, the defendants also assaulted the complainant, and used harmful objects to inflict injuries on him.
The offences, he said, contravened the provisions of Sections 173, 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The court granted the defendants bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum and the matter was adjourned until April 19 for trial.
